Winton Steward is a seasoned government affairs professional with over a decade of experience. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Alabama State University and a graduate degree from the University of Chicago.
Winton began his career in Washington, D.C., specializing in foreign policy. He later transitioned to the technology sector after relocating to Chicago. For the past three years, he has been leading Google’s Midwest Government Affairs division.
In his current role, Winton focuses on building relationships with state and local officials, working on a broad range of issues including data privacy, AI, child safety on social media, energy efficiency, and data center development. He has also been instrumental in identifying opportunities for Google to support community initiatives that have benefited thousands of children in the Midwest and workforce initiatives that have helped hundreds of individuals secure meaningful employment.
